River of life christian church
Santa Clara, CA

River of Life’s new 2,000 seat venue, called Shekinah Glory…is situated on a massive 10-acre lot (the former 7-up bottling plant) and is the centerpiece of a campus built to serve their growing congregation and expanding ministries, which in addition to weekend services and special events, includes a 24/7 broadcast studio that was kept on-air during the changeover to the new facilities.

The sanctuary’s main PA consists of four line arrays, two, 7-box Nexo arrays and two, 6-box arrays with PS15 delays, ID24-T fill speakers and three dual 21” subwoofers. DSP duties are handled by a QSC Core 510i with routing managed via Dante.  The audio network allows audio to be transported between the church’s two main venues, the studio space, and the two broadcast mix rooms.

The centerpiece of the main sanctuary’s video system is a series of large-format LED walls. The center screen measures 42 ft wide by 13 ft high with two 23 ft x 13 ft side screens. Content for the screens managed by a Christie Pandora Box media server.

As part of the project a new video broadcast suite was built that includes new control and machine rooms – these new spaces connect with the church’s existing control room.  The video suite serves the existing Chapel, studio space, and the new Shekinah Glory.  SMPTE Hybrid fiber cable was provided to the machine room and the new and existing manned cameras with cable runs over of over 500 feet.  Four PTZ cameras were added and are also being controlled from the new production suite. A new video router allows feeds video signals from the control room to be routed to and from various venues on the campus.

To facilitate communication between production personnel, a new Clear-com system was installed that allows 15 belt-packs to work throughout their massive campus.
